Kinohana" experience using wood paper

Nakadana Onsen Nakadana-so", where Shimazaki Toson, a great writer of the Meiji era, was healed, proposes to rediscover the charm of the region.

By experiencing the local culture, new discoveries and new connections can be made, and the charm of the region can be rediscovered.

On March 9 (Sun) and April 20 (Sun), we will hold workshops to experience making Kinohana, wooden flowers, using "sawdust/wood paper" from shaving wood.

Guests staying at Nakadanasou and the public are welcome to attend.

This wood flower box will be a workshop to add your own carnation kinohana to a wooden box made of natural paint with a size of 12cm x 12cm x 9cm (length x width x height).

kinohana kinano Introduction

Kitiaiki Village is rich in nature, with 90% of its area covered by forests. It is there that the one-of-a-kind "Wood Flower" is made.

In this village, where forestry was originally flourishing, handmade "Wood Flower" was created by the women of the village under the theme of "effective use of wood," instead of throwing away the wood shavings generated when the wood is shaved. In 2023, it was used as a gift for Prime Minister Kishida when he paid a courtesy visit to the village.

Also won the wood design award in 2019. Awarded "Furusato Meihin of the Year" in 2020. Adopted as the corsage for the Wood Design Award ceremony in 2022 and the corsage for the Miss Japan Contest award ceremony.

Opened in 2018 as Kinohana kinano.
