Please enjoy the bounty of the mountains, fields, rivers, and other mountain villages in the area, and enjoy a meal together with your fellow diners to your heart's content.
The building of the old house, which was built along the Hokkoku Kaido Road in the first year of Meiji over a period of 12 years from the end of the Edo period, was moved to the site of Nakadanasou in 2002. Through pillars and beams made of zelkova from the Komoro Castle strongly support the building today.
Harikoshi-tei was named after "Harikoshi-manju," a local dish made from buckwheat flour that appears in Toson Shimazaki's "Sketch of the Chikumagawa River," in the hope that the restaurant will be a bearer of the culture that has taken root in this area and support the community, just like these pillars and beams.
In 2006, it was recognized as a nationally registered tangible cultural property.
The ingredients used at Harikoshitei include organic vegetables and meats grown by reliable producers in the neighborhood, plants and animals by hunters and breeders who are familiar with the local nature, and wild vegetables and mushrooms that grow wild in the fields and mountains. Seasonings are also carefully selected using traditional methods and organic ingredients.
