Shinshu Komoro Soba Making Experience

Update: 2024.09.20

Nagano Prefecture's cool climate and large temperature differences between day and night are considered ideal for growing delicious soba, and the culture of eating soba as "Shinshu soba" has long taken root.

Visitors can enjoy "soba noodle making experience" in the old private house "Harikoshi-tei" (registered tangible cultural property of Japan) and Nakadanasou depending on the number of visitors.

The first step in the soba-making process is mixing the flour, followed by the "mizusuri" process, in which water is added to the buckwheat flour and mixed into the buckwheat flour.

After the "kneading" process is complete, the dough is rolled out thinly with a rolling pin, sprinkled with a generous amount of flour to prevent the dough from sticking together, and cut with a buckwheat knife!

The finished noodles are boiled and served for lunch.

Of course, the soba sauce is Nakadanasou's pride and joy.

Enjoy the unique Shinshu experience with your travel companions.
