I want to convey the scene I painted

The act of making a cup of sake overlaps with the borrowed scenery and
becomes an unforgettable experience.

Keep painting scenes that are not here yet

Puddle is a spatial design firm that begins by "painting a scene" that has never been seen before, and creates places for people to gather and pleasant experiences. We continue to think about the nature of spaces where people spend their time, while placing importance on the following four axes: the search for pleasant experiences, the redesign of communication, the distillation of context, and the medium from the past to the future. Our designs are rooted in our belief in human activity and the richness of human gatherings, and while embracing diverse values, we create landscapes that will lead us into the future.

Our design approaches

We continue to think about the nature of the spaces in which people spend their time while placing importance on four axes: the search for a pleasant experience, the redesign of communication, the distillation of context, and the medium from the past to the future.

  1. The Quest for a Comfortable Experience

At our firm, we place the utmost importance on providing a pleasant experience through space design. We are constantly exploring what kind of experience is better for the people who spend time there, and what kind of change we can create before and after they spend time in that place.

  2. Communication Redesign

In designing, I always stop and think about how to relate two or more things such as people to people, artifacts to nature, and inside to outside by connecting and contrasting them, what kind of communication can be created there, and how to construct something that will remain in people's hearts. I always stop and think about how I can create communication and build something that will remain in people's minds.

  3. A medium from the past to the future

Always conscious of the time axis, we want to be a "medium" that connects the flow of time between the past and the future. When dealing with historic architecture, we determine what needs to be passed on to the next generation, and aim to create designs that will be loved for a long time and can be nurtured into the future.

  4. Distillation of Context

We believe that the process of carefully reading the context of the land and place and applying what should be expressed in the space to the design, as if distilling its essence, is necessary to create a unique experience. We also take many clues from learning about local materials and handicrafts.
